This title features over 20 levels of gameplay. These gameplay segments are interspersed throughout the normal levels to keep the gameplay fresh. Byrd all take place in the air as you look to destroy targets on the ground. For example, the levels with Sparx are linear shooting segments. Each character has their own unique play style. You can play as characters like Sparx the Dragonfly, Blink, Sgt. The hero is not alone in this title his friends are also available to help him out. Not only will he learn to breathe electricity and ice, but he will also learn to jump on walls and off poles. Throughout the course of the game, the hero will learn a host of new abilities. He can also glide through the air using his wings. The tiny dragon retains all of the abilities from the previous games, including his powerful fire-breath attack. The game is a combination of the action and platform genres. It's up to Spyro and his friends to once again banish Red from the Dragon Realms.Spyro: A Hero's Tail on the PlayStation 2 plays similar to Spyro titles on other consoles. This army is led by none other than Gnasty Gnorc, the villain of the first game. He then recruits a dangerous army to enslave the surviving dragons. One day, this evil dragon returns to the Dragon Realms and uses his Dark Gems to drain the life energy from the world. Red is an elder dragon that was banished from the world for committing heinous acts against his brothers and sisters. Spyro: A Hero's Tail introduces a new antagonist, Red.
